A long time ago, there were rituals that people used as a means to connect with the natural and divine forces, seeking to secure their protection and receive the guidance, wisdom and healing.

People had alliances with the spirits and beings of nature. 

They communicated with them through the “technology” of ritual. 

The ancients believed that gods lived in the mountains and that the mountain tops were their altars, being the closest to Heaven and the Light.

Inspired by this ancient tradition, I started the artwork “The Uprising” in 2015. and it continues to this day. 

I go on pilgrimages to the mountain tops in the region and around the world, offering gifts and prayers to the Divine, urging it to intervene and preserve and heal people, restore the wholesome human values and put a stop to the destruction of nature. 

 The modern society has forgotten about this long-established alliance between the humans and the Spirit of Nature.

By visiting the mountain tops, offering gifts to the spirits of the mountains, nature and other noble beings invisible to the eye, I call for the revival of this alliance and for people to renew their spiritual connection with the nature.

On these mountaintops, I use a drum or bells, and invite people to the awakening of consciousness and love. I speak to the Noble and Benevolent, to the Deities who dwell on the mountaintops. By re-establishing our spiritual alliance with nature, we reawaken our own nobility and benevolence.

So far, I have performed the UPRISING on the following mountains:

Mount Rtanj, Mount Kopaonik, Mount Fruška gora, Mount Miroč, Prerasts of Vratna (the Stone Gates of Vratna River), Mount Beljanica, Homolje,

Mount Durmitor, Mount Komovi, Mount Kokino, Mount Velebit, Mount Triglav, Mount Musala, Mount Olympus, Machu Picchu, Mount Ararat, Kilimanjaro, Himalayas.
